I Could "Resort" To This...

After two weeks of resort living, I think I am hooked! Clark and I left for Hawaii almost two weeks ago. We left on Tuesday and flew to Kauai, Hawaii. We spent two nights on the North Shore at Princeville at the St. Regis.
This was our view from our room! We were eating dinner one night and another party was seated about 6 feet away from us...it was Pearce Brosnan and his wife and some other people. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera or a phone so I can't share that view with you! One day we hiked about 2 miles in on the Napoli trail along the coast. Here was our view from the trail...
After a couple of days on the North Shore, we moved around to the south side of the island. Of course, if you are in Hawaii, you have to eat at least one Hawaiian Shave ice, with a snow cap of sweetened condensed milk!
Here is where we spent the rest of the week...

Since all we did was eat and lay by the pool/beach we thought this was pretty much the perfect picture to describe us...
The week did end, and so we said goodbye to this...

and this...

We flew home on Monday night and arrived at our house on Tuesday morning. Leaving Hawaii is easier when you have a great family to come back home to see! After unpacking and doing a lot of laundry (but not all the kids' laundry, thank you Romney!) We packed again and left on Wednesday, with the family, and drove to Phoenix. Clark had business there and he generously took us all along! The kids first discovery were the robes that "made them feel rich" so they had to try them on...(there is a funny family story that goes back to Jordan in Cancun that caused them to seek out the robes...)
After breakfast on Thursday, we went right to the swimming pool and stayed until we thought we should go before we burned!
After the morning pool time we decided to find a movie before dinner. We picked the theater for the start time of the movie because Clark had to be back for a dinner. We ended up at a high end theater in Scottsdale that had these cushy seats and an open bar and meals available to eat during the movie! We stuck with the popcorn, but the seats were great! The movie was "Soul Surfer" about the girl who had her arm bitten off by a shark. It was a good story and fun to see Hawaii where we had just been!
Friday we enjoyed more pool time and the boys hit some golf balls on the driving range...Clark had to attend to business...
The scenery was a little different than Hawaii, but it was still a great resort!
Of course, it had to end so we headed home, but not without adding something to our family's list of experiences...we crossed the new bridge over the Hoover Dam!
We made it home safely and are ready to get back to our usual life. But you can bet we will be on the road again soon looking for the "suite" life!
