Doh! A deer, a female deer...

Two times in less than two years! We hit another deer! We were coming home from Idaho (from a funeral, no less!) when we struck a deer on the interstate. One ran across the road and Clark tried to slow down, but not before another one ran out and we hit it dead center (no pun intended)! As much as I complain about driving the "big, blue bus" I am grateful for a large vehicle at times like these! So, we had every seat in the van filled with our children, but Jocelyn did sleep through the whole thing!. Since the van was undrivable we had to get everyone out of the van and to the towing shop. Fortunately, Clark's brother passed us just after we pulled over and he pulled over and came back. He could take 3, Jordan, Timmy and Caleb. The police officer could take four so he took Scott, Romney, Jocelyn and Madelyn. Clark and Marissa and I climbed into the cab of the tow truck (with 2 tow truck men!) They took us a couple of exits to Inkom, Idaho to the the tow truck stop. The owner kept the shop open and heated while we waited. Ed and Annie took their kids to Logan to take Charlie back to school. They left their kids to drive home with Charlie's car and came back to pick us up! We finally got home about 11:30 pm! We are sure grateful for family who was available to bail us out! So here are some pictures of our adventure!
The van made out better than the deer!
Jocelyn and Maddy's first ride in a police car...I think it was Scott's first, too!
Waiting in the tow shop...we played cards and the ABC game with movie titles!
(Marissa thinks this picture looks nicer than the shop really was...but at least we weren't waiting on the side of the freeway freezing!)
